Whitehaven

This size picture works okay on even slower dial-up accounts, as well as keeping my server bandwidth under control. LOL.
You will also see 'High Resolution Pic' links for the largest pictures if you want a good look and have a high speed web connection.

We have had a lot of positive feedback on the Job Corp/Prep Building Tour pictures.  As I look through the alumni lists, I realize how many of us have moved to the far ends of the earth.  I also realize how many of you probably don't get a chance to drive through your old neighborhoods anymore.  So, I have started this page which will allow you to take a look at what has become of our old haunts.

Trust me though, most of these neighbors aren't great any more. You can sit and look at these pictures a lot longer than you'd probably be willing to stand out on the sidewalk for real and reminisce old times.  Unfortunately, the Whitehaven area has really gone down hill quickly in the last 10-20 years.  There are still nice pockets of neighborhoods here and there, but it likely isn't the place you remember.

New Pictures

I will add photos as people request them, provide them to me or as I have time to run by and take more pictures.

Former Whitehaven Pictures

Unfortunately, I don't have any "old" pictures of Whitehaven.  I didn't become a "shutterbug" until later in life.   If you do have some old photos and would like to send them to me, I would love to get a "then and now" comparison here.  So, send me what you have and I'll get them posted.

Photo Requests?

I still live in the Memphis area and have an opportunity to go through Whitehaven on occasion.  If you have a particular spot, building, former workplace or house you might like a picture of, please don't hesitate to drop me a note and I'll do what I can to post it here.   Jimmy@MemphisPrep.com

Dr. Davis' house - off Shelby Drive.
Most of us had a chance to visit with Dr. Davis during special functions and others of us just got into the habit of dropping by.  If so, this photo might trigger some memories.  Dr. Davis has since moved, but the house remains very similar to what it looked like when he lived there.
